NACOGDOCHES,Texas — The familiar sound of pads colliding and loud practice music filled the air outside of the SFA Fieldhouse on Monday morning, as SFA Football continued its preseason camp by adding pads to the mix for its third practice. The Lumberjacks opened with stretching and warm-up before breaking into groups and working on individual drills.

The team also continued to work on special team situations, including punting and field goal coverage. Sandwiched inbetween the special teams work was some 7-on-7 choice plays, which saw the offense run a series of plays against the defensive unit. While the offense finished up their work for the day, the defense broke out into groups to work on fundamentals and technical details.

While the CFB world hangs precariously in the balance, the mood among the Lumberjacks is a strong and unwavering desire to play this fall. The sights and sounds of football in Nacogdoches are a welcome distraction for the players, coaches, staff and fans of Stephen F. Austin. Following practice, Coach Caid Faske was able to articulate some of the focus of the Lumberjacks in these uncertain times and how they have kept their players focused and driven towards the goal of playing this fall.
