Paradise is only a paddle away! You could spend the weekend surrounded by peaceful nature at this gorgeous A-frame, but getting there will be a bit of a workout. So if you live for adventure and love to canoe, this one will surely float your boat.
Located in Thessalon, Ont., this charming tiny cabin sits on a remote lake within Mississagi Provincial Park and it’s the perfect place to escape the city for a while.
To get to the tiny getaway, you’ll need to hike your way through a private trail and cross not one but two lakes by canoe, which is provided by the homeowners.
In total, you’re in for a 7 km. adventure before you reach your destination, so make sure you pack everything you need and nothing you don’t.
The trek might sound like hard work, but the views along the way are definitely worth the accommodation fees.
You’ll see lakes filled with lilly pads, rustic footbridges, soaring granite cliffs, and you may even spot a swimming moose along the way, too.
So if you’re looking to really go off the grid, then this place is perfect.
According to the Airbnb listing, the venture into the cabin will take roughly two hours, not including rest stops and picnic breaks.
Previous hiking and canoeing experience is strongly suggested, as well.
When you finally reach the end of your journey, you’ll be greeted by one of the cutest little four-person-maximum cabins we’ve ever seen.
There’s no electricity or running water inside, but you will find a sweet wooden sauna on site so you can steam your worries away. There are plenty of candles for when it gets dark.
If we’re being totally honest, even the cabin’s little green outhouse looks like something out of a whimsical fairytale.
You’ll also find a sandy beach area on the property, perfect for swimming on hot summer days.
So, aside from electricity and running water, it seems like this cabin has it all.
So if you’re down for an epic journey, rally your three best hiking friends and get ready for a beautiful time.
